The Logitech Alert 700e is a very interesting product. To start this review, let us first discuss the installation process. There is a guide included in the box that will hold your hand in every step of the installation. It is easy to follow, and thanks to the color coded ribbons, you won’t be having mistakes in which wire will go where. Even without any professional help, anyone can install the Logitech Alert 700e. All that anyone has to do is find the spot where they would like to mount the Logitech Alert 700e. Secure the device in its place and adjust the position of the camera to the area it needs to focus. The wires are easy enough to fit through windows without having to make special modifications or alterations to your home.
The Logitech Alert 700e records high quality videos. They are vey clear and colorful. The night vision capability is also wonderful as it allows me to view a scene even when it is already dark. Now I could leave my house and still see what is happening in there. one of the most important feature that you must immediately set up is the alert system. The alert system will automatically alert you via email or SMS when there is motion detected in the area where the device is set to observe. You can immediately see the event when you access your computer or phone when this happens. There is an app which you can install to your phone and pc so that you will be able to view what is happening at anytime at anyplace. This app is free and comes with the Logitech Alert 700e purchase.
There are some particulars that I think is not great about the Logitech Alert 700e. One is the memory card. It is good that the Logitech Alert 700e has a god size storage device where recorded videos can be saved. However, trying to retrieve the memory card will be hard because it is with the camera. You see, I try to conceal the camera as much as possible so that it will be discreet. I mount it in a place that is not easily accessible. Now, if I want to retrieve the memory card I will have to climb and reach for the card slot at the camera itself.
Another thing that the Logitech Alert 700e is not good is the sound recording system. The sound recording system has great volume, although, it records to much environmental noise like the blowing of wind. Now if you are in the windy part of town, you might want to turn the sounds off because you will definitely hear the wind blowing.
There are some other issues on the Logitech Alert 700e that have been reported by other people who have bought this product, something about the software being old or poor customer support. Although this may sound very serious for some, I still think that this is a great addition to my home security. The night vision is what sold me. The way that the Logitech Alert 700e looks is not bad either. While this camera is far from being the perfect security camera in the market today, I can still say that it one of the good ones out there. If you are looking for the high-tech and the most advance security camera on the planet, then this is not it. Try looking for a more expensive ones in the market.
